July :Penstemon 'Garnet'

Penstemon 'Garnet'

Penstemon 'Garnet'

This is a very long flowering plant (from now until the end of autumn). The deep pink tubular flowers are born along lush green foliage 60-90 cm tall. They help towards producing that full frothy look of the English summer border, and as they are evergreen they have the added advantage of giving you some interest in the winter. The only care they need is to be cut back hard in the early spring.

Pulmonaria 'Lewis Palmer'

Pulmonaria 'Lewis Palmer' My Plant of the month for March, I thought you might be interested in seeing what it looks like from summer through to the autumn. As you can see the gloriously spotty leaves are a joy and create a great backdrop for other plants.

Astrantia major 'Sunningdale Variegated'

Pulmonaria 'Lewis Palmer' With it's variegated palmate leaves, this plant is good value even before it flowers. The flowers are amongst the most delicate I know in white, pink and a touch of the palest green.
